There’s a good reason these gorgeous rags are known as the “diamonds of the kitchen” – sometimes they cost almost as much as a real “girl’s best friend”!
Let’s put it this way – if you somehow managed to find real fresh truffles, they
WILL strike hard with their pungent scent; your aroma WILL delight you with a single
overwhelm bite; and they WILL be counted with the price of a used car!
But we don’t mean white truffles, which are three to four times more expensive than black truffles
can.
Truffles are an extraordinary blend of exquisite taste and mystery,
Inaccessibility and occasionally even esoteric communication with nature, in all its splendor.
Unfortunately, where there is luxury, there is also a drive for profit that turns people into criminals. Rougher
Climate change has made truffles a rare commodity and it is no surprise that these days
Bootleggers around the world steal from chefs and truffle hunters, kidnap their truffle dogs,
smuggling and organizing illegal auctions where no one has enough interest in product origin
to ask question.
On the other, legal side of luxury, people still try their slightly impossible
and to infuse strange creations with an indescribable truffle aroma.
